What is the ATBN?
The Active Tourism Business Network is a network of tourism related businesses in Dumfries and Galloway working together to establish the region as one of the world’s leading destinations for mountain bikers and visitors looking for other active tourism opportunities. The Active Tourism Business Network is facilitated by Dumfries and Galloway Chamber of Commerce.
Following on from the Mountain Bike work the Network is now looking to promote the area more generally for the wide range of activities now available. We are not forgetting mountain biking, which will still be a main focus, but we also want to let people know that there are lots of other things to try.
What’s in it for me?
We have secured funding from Scottish Enterprise and LEADER to help us with this work and we are now:-
- Developing an iPhone and android App to let people access the information in the web site on the go
- Adding in lots and lots of new activities into the web site
- Producing new leaflets and publicity material to promote the web site and the App
- Coordinating a Dumfries and Galloway Stand at outdoor exhibitions
We will also continue to take part in events, produce membership stickers and leaflets, organise familiarisation trips for journalists and develop our exclusive members' only website.
Membership includes a free listing on our innovative members' only website which has several links on the official 7stanes site which attracts over 300,000 visitors every year.
